Silver bay

Think of it as a little piece of calm that happens to be alive. Silver bay is all about a drapey, cascading green that softens shelves and bookcases. Let it spill over a pot, or train it upward as it lengthens.

Light: Give it plenty of filtered light and it’ll reward you. It handles lower light surprisingly well.
Water: Let the surface dry a bit, then water thoroughly.

Let it trail, pin it to a wall, or train it up a pole as it grows.

When in doubt, hold off on watering—most houseplants forgive dryness faster than sogginess.
